A three-year-old boy moved hearts on a busy street with his touching rendition of ‘You Raise Me Up.’
When we see children using their talents to glorify God, it fills our hearts with joy and wonder. God can use anyone to share His gospel, and sometimes the pure words from a child touch our hearts more deeply than those of a seasoned preacher.
As the Bible tells us in Joel 2:28, “Your sons and daughters will prophesy,” we are reminded of the nearness of the return of our Lord Jesus Christ as we witness countless young ones praying, singing, and sharing God’s word across the internet today.
On a sidewalk filled with holiday shoppers, two brothers in matching blue sweaters shared their musical gifts with passersby. Three-year-old Nicholas Protsenko sat comfortably in his chair, singing with a clarity that belied his young age, while his brother Leo provided skillful piano accompaniment.
Nicholas brought smiles to everyone’s faces as he added sweet shoulder movements to match the lyrics. Their sister, the well-known violin performer Karolina Protsenko, watched from the crowd with visible pride as her little brothers performed. Parents stopped to watch, many holding their own children close as they witnessed this touching scene.
As Nicholas sang through the familiar verses, the crowd grew larger. His ability to remember all the words amazed the onlookers, who responded with warm applause.
The performance reached its peak when the young vocalist confidently hit the high notes, drawing even more cheers from the gathered audience.
These gifted brothers showed us how God’s love can shine through people of any age. Their performance brings to mind Jesus’s words about welcoming children, “Let the little children come to me.” It reminds us that even the youngest among us can carry His message of hope.
When we hear this song about being raised up, we can’t help but think of how Jesus lifts us from our lowest points and carries us through difficult times.
Just as these young brothers shared their musical gifts freely on the street, we too can share God’s love wherever He places us.
