Why We Can Safely Believe That God’s Grace Is Sufficient For Us

God displays His power by sustaining us during our lowest times. He controls the storms and the droughts and causes the fall of dictators and kings.

Throughout scripture, God makes it clear that we should have a healthy fear of the Lord. His grace is sufficient for us.

God's-grace

My Grace is sufficient for you

When Paul asked God to take away the thorn in his flesh, God said this to him: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

God could have easily delivered Paul, but He told him, “My power is made perfect in my deliverance.” He left Paul in his condition and said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

When we are at our weakest we need the grace of God and not more strength or a dramatic deliverance. We have to know that God’s grace is sufficient for every circumstance we find ourselves in.

So what does “My Grace Is Sufficient For You,” mean?

1. God Gets The Glory In Every Situation

If we were able to solve all our problems then we could take some of the glory. But we can’t sustain ourselves and if it wasn’t God pushing us we would not have made it.

God’s power is made perfect in weakness because it ensures that he alone gets all the glory. He is the one who has done it all and we will boast only in him.

2. God’s Power is the greatest

God’s grace is sufficient for us because we are mortal humans and when faced with our own Red Sea we wouldn’t be able to cross it without the help of God. His grace IS sufficient and His power is able to keep us going through every struggle.

3. He is the deliverer

God has been in the business of deliverance from the very beginning of the ages. he loves to deliver his people when the stakes are high and the odds are the worst.

God’s power is made perfect in our weakness because only God can deliver us and we don’t have the power to rescue or deliver or save.

4. We have to Trust In God Alone

God wants his people to know that he alone is their hope.

God leads us through the valley of death so that we’ll trust in him alone and cling to his sufficient grace.

5. It deepens our Trust In God

There is no problem in planning for the future but it’s easy to fall into the trap of trusting in our own understanding rather than God’s sufficient grace.

When we trust in the sufficiency of God’s grace, we will be anxious for nothing.

In heaven, we will be praising and thanking God for His sufficient grace in our lives, our children’s lives and in everything, He will get the ultimate glory. Amen!
