Veteran Takes Deceased Marine’s Daughter To Daddy-Daughter Dance

Military families all over the USA make a lot of sacrifices everyday so that our families can be safe and sound and enjoy ourselves.

Khloe Braunstein lost her dad when she was only 2 and a half years of age after her veteran dad committed suicide after suffering from PTSD. Her mom Mary Braunstein said, “She was the apple of his eye. She was his whole world.”

So when fellow marine veteran Steve Exceen met Braunstein and her daughter, he was deeply affected by the way, they missed she missed her dad he was moved by how much she missed her dad and stayed in touch with her on Facebook.

As a father-daughter dance was fast approaching, Exceen wanted to take Khloe along with Braunstein’s approval. “I was speechless, and then I started to cry,” Braunstein said. So with her blessing and his daughter Sarai’s help, Exceen was all set to take Khloe to the dance with them.

 

In 2010 Khloe lost her Father Kody, a Marine Veteran to his internal demons. When I asked her mother if I could take her, that’s when she told me that Khloe was made fun of because she didn’t have a Father to take her to the Father/Daughter Dance. At that moment, I know that I had to do something to make a difference in her life.

This was Khloe’s first Father/Daughter Dance. So Sarai and I wanted to do something special for her.

Exceen took to Facebook to write, “This will be a moment that I will forever cherish,”  “I am forever grateful,” he wrote. “Khloe changed my life. This also was a moment my amazing daughter will remember forever. I would of never in a million years thought sharing that video would of impacted so many people,” he added.
