Hundreds of College Students Accept Jesus Christ and Get Baptized at Tennessee

God is actively working on college campuses across America through the Unite US movement, transforming the lives of thousands of students by connecting them with the Gospel and local churches.

This powerful spiritual revival began at Auburn University last fall and has quickly spread to several other prominent universities including Florida State University, the University of Georgia, the University of Alabama, and most recently, the University of Tennessee.

At a recent event in Tennessee, over 5,500 students gathered, many experiencing a profound change. According to the Unite US official Instagram, hundreds declared their faith openly and over 120 were baptized in the backdrop of Neyland Stadium. This testament to faith highlights that these are not isolated incidents but a sweeping movement that Tonya Prewett, the founder of Unite US, describes as “all a move of God.”

Prewett shared with CBN, “I’m not capable of doing this, we’re not capable of doing this, it’s the hand of God. It’s way bigger than us.” She emphasizes the simplicity and obedience of their mission, stating, “We’re just walking in obedience and God’s gone before us and He’s moving in incredible ways.”

The threefold objective of each Unite event—salvation, freedom from sin and burdens, and community through local ministries—ensures that students are not only hearing the Gospel but are also provided with immediate opportunities to connect with local churches. These events incorporate worship and gospel messages, with pastors and community leaders actively participating to mentor and guide the students post-event.

In discussions with CBN News, Madison Prewett Troutt, Tonya Prewett’s daughter, noted the uniqueness of this movement: “This will be called the greater awakening, something our nation has never witnessed.” The impact is profound and lasting, changing how students interact with their faith and communities.

Prewett further explains the importance of the connection with local churches, “We connect with every pastor in the community, and every campus ministry leader in the community, and we bring them in and they set up tables, [so] these students can get connected that night.” Many testimonies have emerged from students who have become deeply integrated into their churches, taking active roles in leadership and discipleship.

As we witness this divine awakening across college campuses, we are reminded of our shared call to support and pray for these movements. Let us unite in prayer and support for these students, that they may continue to grow in their faith and lead others to Christ. This is indeed a greater awakening, led by God through the hands of faithful servants.

Verse of the Day

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.””
