Sometimes children amaze us with actions that show wisdom far beyond their years. Their innocent spirits often lead to genuine connections and friendships in ways we rarely experience in our busy adult lives.

In this story of two young twins, we see how God used their pure hearts to create something beautiful that touched many lives.

Jessica Watt and her twin daughters were walking through the Walmart parking lot when they spotted a wallet on the ground. Little Harper grabbed it and held it tight, telling her mom she needed to protect it from “bandits.”

The family went straight to the store security to find its owner. When they couldn’t locate the person, Jessica wrote a note saying “Please call me when you find your wallet” and left it with security.

The wallet belonged to Lesa Stricklan, a retired police officer who now works as a security officer at Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy.

Stricklan had been shopping for coats for students in need when she lost her wallet. Her heart filled with relief when she found it at the security desk with Jessica’s note.

“I’m so proud of them,” Jessica said about her daughters. “For being 4 years old, I thought they would try to take the money and go shopping but we taught them honesty is the best way, especially right before Christmas.”

The story took a beautiful turn when Stricklan met the family. She brought cards, stickers, treats, and gift cards for the twins.

The girls gave her a new wallet, but they received something far more precious: a new grandmother figure in their lives. “I’m nana to them now, those are my new grandkids,” Stricklan said with joy.

Stricklan shared, “Around the holidays and each day you do good, it’ll come back. Even if it’s not something tangible, there are other ways God is blessing you with health, bringing your family together, anything, keeping a roof overhead, those are blessings.”

The story touched many hearts online. “Two little girls brought up well. Hope their parents are proud of them,” one viewer commented. Another said, “With all the thefts, shoplifting and dishonesty in today’s world, this is so refreshing. They ARE little angels!”

Let us teach our children that kindness and honesty matter more than trophies and achievements. As the Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

When we guide our little ones to love others and do what is right, we prepare them to shine God’s light in this world, just like these precious twins did.
