We are living in a world where our Christian life is questioned every day. Things happening around us, pull us down from standing firm for God.
Believers are finding it difficult to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and men and women are falling away from their faith due to so many reasons.
Persecution is going on everywhere, and people are facing so many new challenges in their lives that bring discouragement.
But amid all this, God’s word has told us to be strong and courageous because He will never leave us nor forsake us.
As a believer, we have the support of the word of God to get us through the darkest days of our lives.
Here is a list of some powerful scriptures that we can hold on to during hard days:
1. I am Loved
“See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him.” (1 John 3:1)
God’s love is eternal and He chose us even before we were formed in the womb. He loves us and ordained the path of love for us.
The truth is that no matter how dark the world around us becomes, God’s love for us will never grow cold. He loves us unconditionally and not because of who we are or what position we hold.
Even if you’ve spent your whole life running away from God, He still loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.
“God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.” (Ephesians 1:5)
2. I am Chosen
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
You are chosen and elected by God to live in a time such as this. We have to believe that God has chosen us to be born and go through the challenges that we are facing in these dark days.
Jesus said to his disciples, “You did not choose me, but I chose you” (John 15:16). Our faith holding on to him isn’t enough, we need to know that His mighty hand is holding onto us.
We have been set apart and chosen to be the salt and light in this failing world. God has equipped us with all spiritual blessings to serve Him and save others around us.
3. I am Sanctified
“But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.” (2 Thessalonians 2:13)
Many Christians know that they are saved and that God has a plan for their lives but they are not aware of being sanctified.
They think that the word ‘sanctified’ doesn’t pertain to them but to some saintly or holy/pure people.
But actually the word “sanctified” has two different meanings: “made holy” or “set apart.”
