Tom Ball, a 25-year-old singer and teacher from Burgess Hill, U.K., made a triumphant return to the stage on America’s Got Talent. Ball was the runner-up on Britain’s Got Talent Season 15 and took another shot at the ultimate prize on AGT. He wowed the judges with his rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s 1964 folk rock classic “The Sound of Silence.”
His performance earned a standing ovation from the judges and the crowd. Simon Cowell was blown away by Ball’s talent and compared him to Susan Boyle, calling him “the best performance I’ve seen all series.” Heidi Klum praised Ball for his outstanding vocal abilities, calling him “larger than life.” Howie Mandel also expressed his admiration for the young singer, saying, “You’re really amazing.”
Tom Ball’s performance impressed the judges and he was awarded the Group Golden Buzzer. He will be joining other Golden Buzzer earners and other talented performers in the Finals.
