One Man’s A Cappella Performance Of ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd, I’ll Not Want’ Will Move You

Michael Eldridge performed a beautiful a cappella rendition of the song ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd, I’ll Not Want.’ This song is from Psalm 23, written by King David in the Bible and set to music by John Campbell in 1854.

The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; He leadeth me
The quiet waters by.

Michael Eldridge is an extremely talented singer, performing bass, lead, tenor, and alto parts in this song.

My soul, He doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E’en for His own name’s sake.

“It was true for David as he wrote the psalm, and it’s true for us today,” Michael writes on YouTube about his video. “In every circumstance, the Shepherd provides for His flock.”

Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill;
For Thou art with me, and Thy rod
And staff me comfort still.

As we face uncertain times raging all around us, we can take comfort in the words of this song. We don’t need to fear anything because God is with us, and He is the one who takes care of us and comforts us. Amen.
