Young Girls Sing Beautiful Rendition Of ‘The First Noel’

Analie and Abby Johnson of One Voice And Rise Up Children’s Choirs come together to present a spectacular cover of popular Christmas carol “The First Noel.”

The video description says that this video is part of the 2018 #lighttheworld campaign by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

The words of this traditional carol reminds us of the birth of Jesus Christ when shepherds were watching over their sheep just like people who care for others and watch over them, like the police and the military who watch over our country so that we are safe and sound, nurses and caregivers who look after the patients in hospitals and hospices around the country, teachers and parents, who dedicate their lives to the children.

The first Noel the angels did say,
was to certain poor shepherds in fields where they lay.
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep,
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,
Born is the King of Israel

The First Noel was probably of french descent, but words were added by Davies Gilbert, 1833, and Anna M. Molgard.

Today as these young children sing this traditional old Christmas carol we feel blessed to hear their version of the song and it has certainly brightened up our day and brought focus on Jesus Christ who is the reason of the season.

Verse of the Day

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
