A heartwarming incident was being reported after four cats left aboard a sinking ship were rescued by sailors from the Royal Thai Navy in a dramatic rescue.
Royal Thai Navy reported that they responded to the site of the sinking fishing boat Tuesday off the coast of the Satun Province at the southern end of Thailand.
They rescued the 8 crew members, three Thai and five from Myanmar, and the cause of the sinking and any oil spill were still being investigated.
It was then that they noticed the cats were still aboard the sinking vessel, which was vertical in the water and nearly totally submerged after it had capsized.
“I used my camera to zoom in to the boat, and I saw one or two cats popping their heads out,” First-Class Petty Officer Wichit Pukdeelon said. Photos on Facebook shared by Royal Thai Navy show the cats huddled together, looking wet and frightened.
Some more photos show one of the sailors wearing a life vest and swimming out to retrieve the cats, giving the animals a ride to safety as they clung onto his shoulders.
The navy soldiers showed that they are merciful and care for the lives of animals when they saved the lives of the cats. Proverbs 12:10 ESV “Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.”
