6 Characteristics Of Successful Christian Parents

Successful Christian parenting is a goal many families want to achieve, but it all starts with guiding your children closer to God.

Often times our busy schedules get in the way and we cannot complete the goals that we set for ourselves to nurture and create boundaries.

Your children are always watching you and look up to you and know exactly what you value, and what’s important to you.

if you value Jesus Christ as the most important person in your life, then let it be seen in your life.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Here are 6 traits of successful Christian parenting.

1. Teach them the word of God from a young age

When the children are young you cannot just place a Bible in their hands and expect them to read it. As parents, you will need to help them read and understand it.

Buy them a Children’s Illustration Bible, or just sit down with them and teach your children the word of God.

2. Make them feel unique and loved

Your children are created in the image of God and are unique and beautiful in their own way. Tell your kids that they are valued and are made specially by God.

When they hear encouraging words like these from their parents they will not value themselves based on what outsiders tell them as it comes from a God who loves them dearly.

3. Appreciate their talents

Every child is blessed with a unique gift and talent that we can use to glorify Him. Make an effort to find out what your child’s interest is in and discover their talents and passion.

If they love to play the guitar then appreciate them and suggest they could use their talent to glorify God at church.

4. Show grace and forgiveness at home

It’s not enough to just teach them about grace and forgiveness but you must give grace yourself at home.

Jesus showed us grace and forgiveness when he died for us on the cross even though we were still sinners.

Show grace to your children in certain situations and use those opportunities to teach them about it.

5. Show them how to serve

It’s important to teach your children the importance of serving anytime, anywhere and anyone.

Go on mission trips together, serve at church, serve those in need and be grateful for everything.

6. Encourage them to be hardworking

Teach your children the importance of hard work at home and it will be a great way to prepare them for life.

They will know the importance of working hard at school, playing well at sports events and serving the communities.

Verse of the Day

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

Luke 2:8-11
