4 Steps To Fully Submit Yourselves To God

Deep inside our hearts, we have many questions about our existence, our purpose in life, and how to please our Creator.

submit yourself to God

We can get the answers to all these questions only through complete submission to God. That is when He will show us what we were created for.

Job 33:4 “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” We were birthed by the spirit of God and we belong to God alone.

We read in Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.” Everyone who lives on the earth was created by Him.

To fully submit to God, is a daily lifestyle, not a seasonal thing. It is easy to believe the lies of the world when we don’t make it a point to read our Bibles and pray and submit everything of our lives to Him on a daily basis.

Ephesians 4:14 NLT Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.

Here are some vital steps to help you move into full submission to God:

1. Submit your heart

The heart motivates us to make decisions for our lives and in order for it to be transformed to have “a good conscience and a sincere faith“, we need to submit it to God for renewal.

Ezekiel 36:26 “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

Proverbs 28:14 “Blessed is the one who fears the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.”

Psalm 101:4 “A perverse heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil.”

2. Submit your selfish egos and motives

We all have egos and love to be appreciated, but when we are born again we now need to put those down before Jesus glorify Him only.

Proverbs 16:2 “People may be pure in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their motives.”

Philippians 2:5-8 “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”

3. Submit your soul

The soul defines who we are as individuals and is responsible for making us unique individuals. The word of God tells us to purify our souls from sin and be “born again” or else our souls will die.

1 Peter 1:22-23 “Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.”

Matthew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

4. Submit your mind

The mind is where all our beliefs, thoughts, and ideas lie. Satan bombards our minds with temptations, lies, and hatred.

The enemy knows if he can control your mind, you will struggle to submit to God.

We need to submit our minds to God’s Word and the Holy Spirit before we can become His disciples.

Romans 8:6-7 “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.”

Romans 7:23 “But I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.”

Verse of the Day

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
