Sperm whales are the largest of the toothed whales, which include dolphins and killer whales. They get their name from the oily fat contained in their huge heads, which is known as spermaceti. This spermaceti and the oil from their blubber make them a target of whaling boats.

We can’t help marvel at God’s creation as these sperm whales are one of the deepest diving mammals in the world and can stay underwater for up to 2 hours before coming up for air.

The incident that was watched by many all over took place in Ningbo City, East China after the sperm whale was washed up on a beach there.

Sperm whales eat giant squid and live at great depths in the oceans, but every now and then these whales get stranded on the coast as this one did on April 19, 2022.

Reports said that the sperm whale was found about 740 meters from the coastline and was being kept alive by the heroic efforts of local firefighters and volunteers.

The rescuers spent around 20 hours helping the whale survive by pouring water on the 65-foot whale and digging a trench pool filled with seawater so that it could breathe and stay alive.

They waited till the tide reached its highest when authorities there with the help of five boats dragged the whale back to freedom in the sea.

At the end of the day, everyone was relieved that the giant whale had been rescued and sent back to the ocean, the live-streamed event was watched by many animal lovers.

Verse of the Day

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
