He shared his experience on social media, describing it as profound and joyful. “Yesterday I got baptized, and it was an incredible, profound experience,” Russell said in a video, clearly happy about his choice.

Despite his past troubles, Russell’s decision to follow a Christian life is inspiring. He expressed this in his own words: “For me, I’ve made the decision, and I know what the decision is. I’ve made it for myself.”

Over the past several months, he has posted photos and videos discussing this new phase in his life. He has pointed out that the material world does not provide soul-level fulfillment, which has guided him towards his faith.

“As meaning deteriorates in the modern world, as our value systems and institutions crumble, all of us become increasingly aware that there is this eerily familiar awakening and beckoning figure that we’ve all known all of our lives, within us and around us,” he explained.

Now wearing a cross, Russell identifies more with the Christian faith. “The reason I wear a cross is because Christianity and, in particular, the figure of Christ are it seems to me inevitably becoming more important as I become more familiar with suffering, purpose, self, and not self,” he mentioned.

Brand’s journey to faith was influenced by his reading of the Bible and works by Christian philosopher C.S. Lewis. He opened up about his life-changing opportunity on social media before his baptism.

“What’s been explained to me is, it’s an opportunity to die and be reborn. An opportunity to leave the past behind and be reborn in Christ’s name, like it says in Galatians.” he explained.

Baptism is a significant milestone in any person’s life. The journey to baptism begins with repentance and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Through baptism, we leave our old selves behind and become new creations in Christ.

Let us pray for Russell Brand, that he may continue to grow in his faith.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
