A fifth-grade teacher asked her students a simple question – “How much does a rainbow weigh?” – and got some amazing answers that are making people smile.
I love when teachers find ways to make school fun. This teacher uses a “Joke of the Day” to give kids a break from regular lessons.
When she asked about rainbow weight, the kids didn’t laugh it off – they really thought about it! Sometimes we all need to slow down and enjoy these little moments of wonder.
The kids came up with all sorts of answers. One said rainbows weigh “a lot of gold coins,” thinking about that old story of gold at the end of rainbows. Another guessed “an ounce,” while someone else said “nothing at all.”
My favorite was the science-minded kid who talked about how tiny a rainbow would weigh based on “how much light weighs.” Each answer shows how differently kids think!
The video on YouTube shows not just funny answers but how excited the kids were to join in. The joke did have a punchline that made everyone groan and laugh – but the real joy was watching these kids think creatively.
These small, happy moments in school matter. God gives us curiosity and imagination for a reason.
Next time you see a rainbow, take a second to enjoy its beauty – and maybe wonder yourself how much it might weigh!
