The world is really a small place and that is exactly how intensive care nurse Vilma Wong felt when she met the baby that she had treated 28 years ago in the form of a new colleague.
The 54-year-old nurse was shocked to know that the new doctor who had joined the hospital, Brandon Seminatore, was the same baby she had nursed when he was born.
Vilma had cared for Brandon when he was delivered as a premature baby at 26 weeks. She has worked in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, California for the last 32 years.
As soon as she saw the badge of the new doctor’s name, she immediately recognized him and when Brandon revealed that he was born in the same hospital, she knew exactly who he was.
Apparently his mom told him to look for a nurse Vilma when he joined the hospital, and he told her that she may have already retired by this time.
But to his good surprise, she was still working there and they both met each other after a long gap of 28 years.
This is surely an unusual re-union and we wish both of them a whole lot of love and good wishes.
