A photograph shared by Atty Jb Batiancila of an elderly poor woman deeply engrossed while reading her Bible outside her hut with no electricity is sending out a message to believers around the world.
The woman’s house looks old and dark inside, so she decided to step outside in the light to read her beloved Bible. She looks like a woman who is totally in love with the word of God.
Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” As believers, we can use the word of God to guide us throughout our lives. The one thing that remains at the end of this life is God’s word. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever,” Isaiah 40:8.
As believers in Christ, we can take a leaf out of her book and learn to keep the word of God as the foremost thing to do in our lives. The word of God is our guide, defense, and comfort. it gives us life as God speaks to us through His Word.
Atty Jb goes on to say that the old woman reminds her of her grandmother, “who was poor in possessions, but rich in spirit.”
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1).
If this elderly lady can be so committed and faithful to the Lord even without basic electricity and barely any earthly possessions, then how much more should we be grateful to the lord for all his provisions in our life.
