Life often throws hard times at us. These trials test how strong our faith is. But even when things seem darkest, God’s light still shines through. It gives hope to those who believe. This story shows us that life is short. We need to live each day with purpose and love for God.

Dr. Bobby Mullins led Kirk Baptist Church in Piperton, Tennessee. On September 3rd, he and Wanda were driving home from Baptist DeSoto Hospital. Another car hit them, and their car rolled over several times. Dr. Mullins died at the scene. Wanda fought hard but passed away later in the hospital. They had been married 44 years and had three children and four grandchildren.

A week before the crash, Pastor Mullins shared an old sermon on Facebook. He called it “Living Like You’re Dying.” In it, he asked, “What if you only had one month to live? How would you make each day count? How would you treat others?” He didn’t know how soon these words would touch many hearts.

The Mullins’ children – Brandon, Melody, and Mallory – talked to the news about losing their parents. Even though they are facing the toughest days of their lives, their faith shines bright. Brandon said, with tears in his eyes, “We miss them here on earth. But they were great parents. They taught us the faith that’s helping us get through this now.”

The children find comfort in knowing their parents are together in heaven. Melody said, “As awful as this is, we’re thankful God took them both. We can’t imagine one of them living without the other.”

Pastor Mullins’ last sermon has touched many people. Over 87,000 people have watched the video since the crash. Brandon thinks God planned for his dad to share this message. He said, “My dad couldn’t have known what would happen. I believe God had him share this message for a reason. It’s like it became his own funeral speech.”

In the sermon, Pastor Mullins asked people to think about how they’d live if they knew they didn’t have much time left. He urged them to make each day matter and focus on what’s really important.

Pastor Mullins said, “We’re old enough to die from the moment we’re born. So what can you do to live your life to the fullest every day you have left?” These words remind us that life is fragile and we should live with purpose.

Dr. Bobby and Wanda Mullins touched many lives in their 40 years of service. They didn’t just help their family – they helped their whole community. Many people are sad they’re gone, but their story has made people’s faith stronger.

Mallory said she’s amazed that even in this sad time, people are praising God. “Even though we’re so heartbroken, it’s incredible that Christ is still being honored through all this,” she said.

As we think about Dr. Bobby and Wanda Mullins, let’s take their message to heart. We should live each day with purpose and faith. May their story inspire us to love our families, help our communities, and grow closer to God.

Life is uncertain, but we can find comfort knowing our hope is in Christ. Let’s pray for the Mullins family, their church, and everyone affected by this loss. May God give them comfort, strength, and peace in the days ahead.

Verse of the Day

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.””

Luke 2:11-14
