Brackin and Lindsay Kirkland make up the talented singing duo, Sounds Like Reign. They are blessed with God-given talent for music and have been using it for the glory of God for the past several years.

Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior Hymn Story

This 19th-century Christian song was written by Fanny Crosby in 1868 and set to music by William H. Doane in 1870. Fanny was blind from childhood and one evening in 1868, when she was visiting a prison, reciting Bible verses she knew by heart, she heard someone shout out, “Remember me! O Lord, please don’t pass me by.”

Pass me not, O gentle Savior
Hear my humble cry
While on others Thou art calling
Do not pass me by

Inspired by that incident, Crosby wrote the hymn lyrics on the fear of being excluded and forgotten. It is the worst feeling anyone could ever have of being shunned, or shamed. Our Savior was once mocked and rejected and He understands our pain, let us sing this song whenever we feel the pain of being singled out and isolation.

Savior, Savior
Hear my humble cry
While on others Thou art calling
Do not pass me by

Today Sounds Like Reign and their family sing ‘Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior.’ We are moved to worship the Lord as we hear them sing the words of this beautiful hymn.

Verse of the Day

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
