Stand-up comedian Joseph Charm brought the house down on Britain’s Got Talent with hilarious and relatable parenting jokes.
Parenting stretches us in ways we never expected—physically, emotionally, even spiritually. It’s full of beautiful moments and bone-tired ones, too.
Anyone raising kids knows the quiet ache of sleepless nights and the chaos of trying to hold everything together. That’s what made Joseph’s comedy hit home—because in the middle of the madness, he found a way to laugh, and reminded us we can too.
Joseph, originally from Southeast London and now living in Milton Keynes, stepped onto the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ stage with quiet confidence and a big dream.
After quitting his job to chase comedy full-time, he called this moment a dream come true. Sitting in the audience was his biggest supporter—his wife, his “rock”—who stood by him through the hard choice of leaving a steady job to follow his heart.
The crowd was instantly drawn to Joseph’s warm energy and relatable humor. He kicked off his act by jokingly singing ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)’ before diving into his comedic storytelling.
“Parenting is the ghetto,” he declared to roaring laughter. “But instead of the kids robbing you of your phone and your items, they rob you of your sleep and your dignity.”
He described the daily chaos with his son waking him up at 5 a.m., shouting like he was “a hostage,” while he and his wife lay there, worn out and helpless.
His routine also touched on the financial strain parents face, especially with childcare costs. “£1,000? A minute?” he exclaimed, mimicking desperate parents begging nurseries for help.
And yet, despite the madness, he ended his set with a heartfelt line that hit home: “As nuts as it is, it’s so nice, I had to do it twice.”
All four judges loved his performance. He received four yeses, advancing him to the next round of the competition.
