A young man from Northern Ireland sings a heartfelt version of the hymn ‘Blessed Assurance’.
Many of us have heard this song growing up. It reminds us that when we belong to Jesus, we can rest knowing our future is in His hands. The words speak clearly about the joy and peace that come from knowing Christ.
Owen Mac was born in 2003 in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. He grew up around music and has always enjoyed singing in the country style.
His musical influences include artists from both Irish and American backgrounds. He says his parents supported him from the beginning and continue to encourage him in his music journey.
In this video, Owen sings in a simple room, holding a guitar. His young voice carries the message of the hymn with clarity.
‘Blessed Assurance’ was written in 1873 by Fanny J. Crosby, with music by Phoebe P. Knapp. The song speaks about the confidence we have in salvation through Jesus Christ.
It reminds us that when we trust in Him, we have nothing to fear. The chorus says, “This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long.”
Let this song remind us to hold fast to the assurance we have in Jesus. No matter what we face, we can live with confidence, knowing we belong to Him.
May we continue to praise our Savior every day, just as the hymn says—this is our story, this is our song.
