The Key To Overcoming Fear Is God’s Word

Fear is a tool that the devil is using to rule the lives of many Christians in the world today. It starts as a small thought and then stirs up strong emotions in us that make us take the wrong step.

overcoming fear with God's word

Fear is the opposite of faith and as children of God, we are to walk by faith and not let fear rule our life if we want to live a satisfied Christian life.

Proverbs 23:7 tells us that “as [a man] thinks in his heart, so is he” (NKJV). I like to say it like this: Where the mind goes, the man follows.

Christ is our Freedom

The Bible speaks about meditating on the Word of God and renewing our minds in Romans 12:2 so we can know what God’s will is.

When we meditate we read and again re-read the same scripture until it becomes part of us and we get a revelation about what God wants to tell us from there.

The revelation of the word of God is the truth that will set us free from the lies that the enemy has been speaking to us.

Don’t let fear hold you back

So many talented people in this world have not been able to achieve their purpose of why God blessed them with those gifts because they aren’t using them for the glory of God.

They become frustrated and end up losing everything in life because they’re doing what they are not meant to do.

Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man brings a snare: but whoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Be bold and courageous in Christ

When we receive Jesus Christ and are born again, we have a new identity in Him and share a relationship with Him.

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

We become strong because our God is strong, and in Him we are courageous. We become more than conquerors because He is a conqueror.

Our uncertainty about how things that are happening in the world will affect us can cause so much fear and anxiety in us.

It’s no fun to feel fear and discouragement but we can always look to the word of God which is full of stories of ordinary men and women who boldly faced and overcame terrible circumstances when they placed their trust in God’s word.

Verse of the Day

“Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.””

Luke 2:28-32
