After taking America’s Got Talent by storm, Korean Soul is stunning with ‘Oh Happy Day’ by Edwin Hawkins.
Their voices blend so well and the harmony is just perfect. We needed to hear this, it brightened up our day.
‘Oh Happy Day’ is a 1967 gospel music arrangement of an 18th-century hymn by clergyman Philip Doddridge.
The song was recorded by the Edwin Hawkins Singers and became an international hit in 1969.
The track is notable for its clear sound given the powerful vocals and was made at Hawkins’ church, the Ephesian Church of God in Christ in Berkeley, California.
Oh happy day (Oh happy day)
Oh happy day (Oh happy day)
When Jesus washed (When Jesus washed)
Oh when he washed (When Jesus washed)
When Jesus washed (When Jesus washed)
He washed my sins away (Oh happy day)
We need to rejoice more especially during these days when our country is seeing one of its worst-ever days. In this time of trials, we must never forget that Jesus Christ washed away our sins with His precious blood.
