20 Police Officers Walk Fallen Deputy’s Young Son To School

Ohio officers helped walk the 7 year-old son of fallen deputy Bill Brewer to school only a few days after his dad’s funeral.

It was a tragic turn of events that led to the death of Clermont County Deputy Bill Brewer when the 42-year-old veteran, was one of two deputies shot at a Pierce Township apartment complex during a 12-hour standoff with a gunman.

Huge crowds gathered to pay their final respects to him, and to comfort his wife, Jamie and his son, Braxton. “(He was) proud as a peach of his son — loved his son,” Batavia Township Administrator Rex Parsons said of Bill. “He would come in and tell me stories about how his son was growing up when he was only 5. So, Bill was seeing him progress through stages of life and was so excited about it.”

As a special tribute to Brewer, the police officers gave his son, a special escort to school, he was surrounded by 20 officers on his walk to school in Clermont County. Later they also posted a photo of the sweet moment saying, “In this family, nobody fights alone.”

Verse of the Day

“[Glory in the Highest] Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Luke 2:8-11
