Quick-Thinking Officer Saves Colleague From Out-Of-Control Car

Real life hero’s quick reflexes saved his fellow police officer from an oncoming, uncontrollable car last October 3.

Police Officers Matthew Steward and Jessica McGraw were conducting an investigation for a car accident. Unknowingly, the driver in a white passenger car going north on Highway 23 lost control. It crossed the median and hit the front left side of McGraw’s patrol. It pushed the patrol vehicle off the shoulder of the road towards the two officers. Steward instinctively pulled McGraw aside, saving her from being crushed by the two cars.

As if nothing happened, Steward quickly went to check the status of the driver on the other car. Calls were made for extra assistance. No word was given about the condition of the said driver. He was cited for failure to maintain proper control of his car after the investigation was conducted. Steward sustained minor injury only. He said that his leg went numbed “like I had a bad charley horse.” Both he and McGraw are already set to return to work.

Thanks to this real life hero’s quick reflexes and alertness, two lives were saved! However, ultimately, it’s still God who spared them from being harmed. It is He who gave Steward the ability to save McGraw. It is He who orchestrates and appoints the time for everything!

“For everything there is a season, A time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Verse of the Day

“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”

Luke 2:16-20
