A Police officer in New Jersey is winning hearts of thousands of people online with his act of kindness to a pregnant waitress at a restaurant.

The incident was shared by Brian Cadigan, the father of the pregnant server, on his Facebook. He posted a picture of the officer’s receipt and praised him for his generous act. “You always hear about how bad the police are, how they treated you like dirt, how they are on a power trip,” Cadigan said in his post. “Yes I am sure there are some bad apples, but most of them are just doing their jobs, they deal with the worst of society every day and have to keep going back [every day] and deal with it all over again.”

He went on to write about his daughter’s experience with the officer at the Lamp Post Diner in Gloucester Township. He said, “My daughter is a waitress at a local diner, she is also 7 months pregnant and working still to save as much money as she can.” He said, his daughter attended to the police officer who came there alone for lunch.

Before leaving, the officer signed the check and left her a $100 tip on a $9.00 ticket and wrote her a note saying, ‘Enjoy your first, you will never forget it.’” He wrote, “What a wonderful person to not only leave a VERY generous tip, but a lovely message,” he said, “I don’t know you [Mr.] Police Officer, but you made my little girl cry, and made her year.

He ended saying, “Thank you, I always had the utmost respect for Officers, but you went above and beyond not just an officer, but a beautiful human being. God Bless.”

You always hear about how Bad the Police are, How They treated you like dirt, how they are on a Power Trip, Yes I am…

We often think of our officers as being inhuman and brutal, but in fact, because of them, we can sleep peacefully at night, and know that our kids are safe at school.

Verse of the Day

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

Luke 2:8-11
