Young Man Jumps Off Bike at Stoplight to Push Man in Wheelchair Across Street

In Merritt Island, Florida, a remarkable act of kindness was captured on video and it quickly went viral on social media.

The video shows 20-year-old Joshuah Ridenbaugh, who spontaneously jumped off his motorcycle at a stoplight to help a man in a wheelchair cross the street safely.

Ridenbaugh explained his actions simply: “I just wanted to make sure he got across the road before anything bad happened.” He noticed the man was “a little bit lower” due to being in a wheelchair, and his immediate concern was for the man’s safety.

The video, lasting only 15 seconds, was taken by Ralph and Yvonne Perrone, who were moved by the scene. “Just like a little superhero – flies in, does his duty and he’s gone,” Ralph Perrone Jr. commented. His wife, Yvonne, touched by the gesture, noted, “I was very, very honored to see this happening in the blink of an eye. I have to catch this because we need more of this.”

“This is an earth angel right here literally.” Yvonne said, “This young man’s the real deal. He’s an awesome kid.” Ralph added.

This unplanned encounter took place at the intersection of Courtenay and Needle in North Brevard County. The couple was determined to find and thank the mysterious motorcyclist. Using the unique tattoos on Ridenbaugh’s arm as clues, Ralph Perrone became a detective in his quest. Their search was successful, and the group met for the first time in a Checkers parking lot.

Joshuah’s act of kindness moved many on the internet. ‘Somebody raised a nice young man! I appreciate you!’ commented one YouTube user. Another added, ‘Respect to those who pay attention to their surroundings and don’t hesitate to lend a helping hand whenever possible.’

Verse of the Day

“Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.””
