A young boy and his mother touched hearts everywhere when they shared their love for each other during a simple walk home from the park.
God gives us special moments with our children that we need to treasure. As parents, we know how fast our children grow up. One day they’re holding our hand on walks, and the next they’re heading off to college.
That’s why this mother and son’s conversation means so much to all of us who are raising children.
During their walk home from the park, the little boy spoke from his heart to his mother. “I said that even when we, like, walk, and just walk to the park from back to home, I just love spending time with you. Just, I just love you,” he told her.
Then he went on to tell her how much he values their time together, saying “When I don’t have to go to day care, I’m glad I don’t have to go to day care. I could be more with you.”
His mother listened to these precious words from her son. She responded with the same love and openness, telling him, “You know, I just love you so much because you are the best thing that has ever happened to me in the whole wide world.”
But she didn’t stop there. She opened her heart even more, sharing something that many parents can relate to.
“I know sometimes I may yell or I may get on your nerves and I don’t always do everything right but I love you and I’m working on it,” she told him. “I’m really trying my hardest to do better and make changes in my behavior and my attitude.”
She made sure her son understood his worth, speaking words every child needs to hear: “So that way you know that you are loved and cared for and respected okay because you matter you are important and don’t you ever forget that okay… your feelings matter.”
Our children deserve our love, time, and attention every single day. They don’t need expensive toys, the latest gadgets, or pocket money to feel valued.
What they truly want is to hear our loving words, feel our warm hugs, and know they matter to us more than anything else in the world.
Let’s make time each day to walk with them, talk with them, and tell them how much we love them.
