A Wisconsin man and his family spent years missing their beloved pet but were finally reunited with it in the most unbelievable way.
The word of God tells us that nothing happens without His knowledge and will. It came true for this man identified as Dwight after he spotted his lost dog on a TV news segment about adoptable pets recently.
Dwight later called in the TV station about the dog named Payday whom he lost two years ago. He said he never sleeps with the TV on, but on that particular night, he forgot to turn it off, or maybe it was God’s will.
The next morning, he was awakened by the Adopt-A-Pet segment and the description of a “little brown dog with an adorable underbite,” according to the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS).
The Wisconsin Humane Society shared a post on its Facebook page saying “Payday was originally brought home as a companion for Dwight’s now 12-year-old daughter, who was still distraught over the incredible loss of her best friend. Dwight’s mom, Melissa, came to pick up the beloved pup and — as you can see — it was the most incredible reunion! We are beyond ecstatic for this amazing family to finally be whole again.”
Dwight connected with the Wisconsin Humane Society, and then the family reunited with Payday, who was at the Wisconsin Humane Society Milwaukee Campus location close to their home that same day.
Dwight’s mother, Melissa, went to bring Payday home and it turned out to be a wonderful reunion for the family and the dog. The WHS staff captured the moment on camera and shared it on their Facebook page, earning hundreds of comments and shares from dozens across social media.
Watch: Family reunited with long-lost dog after recognizing him on TV
🎉 Heartwarming story alert! 🎉 Last week, we were shocked and thrilled when FOX6 News Milwaukee reached out to us after one of our regular Adopt-A-Pet segments. They told us that one of their viewers, Dwight, called in because he recognized the dog we had featured.
He had woken up early last Wednesday to the sounds of FOX6’s morning broadcast, just as our volunteer started describing a little brown dog with the most adorable underbite. Dwight normally turns off his TV every night, but must have left it on by accident – or perhaps thanks to fate ✨ It only took one glance at the picture for Dwight to immediately recognize Payday, his long-lost pup who had gone missing nearly two years ago!
Thanks to FOX6’s swift action, Payday was reunited with his family at the WHS Milwaukee Campus that same afternoon. Payday was originally brought home as a companion for Dwight’s now 12-year-old daughter, who was still distraught over the incredible loss of her best friend. Dwight’s mom, Melissa, came to pick up the beloved pup and – as you can see – it was the most incredible reunion! We are beyond ecstatic for this amazing family to finally be whole again 💞

Dwight said it “only took one glance at the picture for (him) to immediately recognize Payday,” according to the WHS. The reunion with Payday was truly a moment never to be forgotten for Dwight and his family.
