A shopper turned his grocery store trip into a moment of pure joy when he danced and lip synced to Phil Collins’ version of ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’ playing over the store speakers.
We all know grocery shopping can test our patience. The long lines, crowded aisles, and the person blocking the shelf while reading every ingredient label can make anyone feel frustrated.
But God often uses simple moments to remind us that joy can bloom anywhere, even in the middle of our weekly shopping trip.
When ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’ started playing, this shopper decided to make the grocery aisle his stage. The song, first made famous by The Supremes in 1966 and later covered by Phil Collins in 1982, sparked something in him.
He grabbed an item from his cart to use as a microphone and started moving to the beat.
His dance wasn’t perfect, but his joy was real. He knew every word of the song and didn’t care who watched him perform. He kept dancing with a smile on his face.
Why not look for ways to spread joy in your everyday moments? You don’t need to dance in the grocery store, but you can choose to bring light to ordinary places.
Let’s be people who make others smile, even when we’re just picking up milk and bread.
