Colin Deveraux, a cattle producer, was out near a body of water, working on a fence when he noticed something unusual. The water level had receded significantly, leaving behind dirty water in the middle of the area. Curiosity led him closer, but little did he know that danger lurked beneath the surface.

Suddenly, a crocodile lunged from the water, clamping its powerful jaws onto Colin’s right foot. The massive reptile shook him vigorously, as if he were a mere plaything.

“It was a big grab and he shook me like a rag doll and took off back into the water, pulling me in.”

But Colin refused to succumb without a fight. In a desperate bid for survival, he kicked the crocodile in the ribs with his other foot and even resorted to an unconventional tactic – biting the creature back. Miraculously, his teeth found purchase on the crocodile’s eyelid, and he pulled back with all his might.

“It was pretty thick, like holding onto leather, but I jerked back on his eyelid and he let go.”

The creature, taken aback by this unexpected counter-attack, released its grip.

Colin wasted no time and scrambled to safety, with the crocodile trailing behind for a short distance before giving up the chase. Despite having a significant wound on his right leg, Colin managed to fashion a tourniquet to stem the bleeding. He was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care.

Colin acknowledged the impact the incident had on him. “It means I’ve got to change what I do. I’ve been walking around that swamp country too long fixing fences and living life, but it’s opened my eyes.”

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.Psalm 34:17-18

Verse of the Day

“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”
