Romanian-American soprano Laura Bretan delivered a breathtaking performance of the beloved Christian hymn ‘How Great Thou Art.’
Laura Bretan first caught the world’s attention in 2016. At just 13 years old, she earned a Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent with her performance of “Nessun Dorma.” She reached the finals but didn’t win.
However, she did claim victory in Romania’s Got Talent that same year. Since then, Laura has built a career with her unique blend of classical, opera, and Christian music.
‘How Great Thou Art’ began as a Swedish poem written by Carl Boberg in 1885. It was later set to music and translated into English by Stuart K. Hine in 1949.
The hymn celebrates God’s amazing creation and salvation. The power of this hymn pairs perfectly with Laura’s incredible vocal range.
What makes her version stand out is how her mature voice brings depth to the familiar hymn. The church backdrop creates the perfect setting for such a spiritual song, giving viewers both beautiful sounds and visuals.
