Group Of Teens Take Elderly Man Home After Noticing Him Struggling To Walk

In today’s world where young men are looked down upon as untrustworthy, a group of teen kids from Caldwell, Idaho, are being seen as true heroes.

Jose Gomez, an elderly resident of the area, was walking down the street using his walker when he fell onto the sidewalk.

Five teen boys who were driving down to play basketball saw the man on the sidewalk and quickly parked their car and jumped in to help the old man.

Gomez said, “I was just falling down, I don’t know what happened. They picked me up. I was walking just right and then sadly I went down, and they come up and say ‘hey, want us to take you home and I said okay, let’s go,’” and adding “It made me feel good.”

The five teen boys, Victor Ornelas, Isaac Hernandez, Diego Ramirez, Devan Ornelas and Josh Sorg, not only helped him reach home, they also cleaned his injured and bloody knee.

What the boys didn’t know, was that a passer-by was quietly recording the whole incident. Erika Tovar, posted this act of kindness in the form of pictures to her Facebook that soon went viral.

She added a caption to the pictures saying, “Shout out to these young boys for helping an elderly man off the ground after he fell and walking him home, if any of you have elderly family check on them make sure they are okay!”

The post was seen by Kathy Plaisance of Sweet Spot Bakery who wanted to thank them on behalf of the Caldwell community. Kathy wrote, “If anyone knows these boys or this gentleman we would sure like to treat them to a treat on us! What a wonderful positive story! Great job boys! This makes our hearts happy!!”

The teen boys were soon found, and interviewed, and showered with presents from different businesses of the community, in the form of free haircuts to personalized cookies.

One of the boys, Isaac Hernandez said, “Crazy how it blew up, we didn’t do it for the attention, we just did it out of the kindness of our hearts. It’s just the right thing to do.” He also added, “I think it makes us all feel good because we are out here helping other people, and we don’t expect anything in return.”

What a story of kindness and humility displayed by these teens, they know the importance of being kind and helping others, such an inspiration to all of us!
