Anonymous Kidney Donor Turns Out To Be Surprise Of A Lifetime

Doncella Liggins has kidney disease and needed a transplant. She was on waiting list when she received the good news of a match. An anonymous person was ready to donate the gift of life.

Doncella and Beverly Burch are living in the small town of Butler, Missouri. They have been friends and sorority sisters for many years. Both were excited when doctors at Saint Luke’s told Doncella they’d found a donor.

Doncella asked the doctor about the donor, but he refused to reveal her identity. But on the otherside, Beverly was hiding a secret for the next six months that she was the anonymous donor. She was confused whether or not to tell her best friend. So, she waited until the day before the transplant.

Beverly handed Doncella a card that read, “Looking forward to sharing part of my life with you – let’s do this.”
“At that moment I realized who it was,” said Doncella. “And I went, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s you! It’s you!’ And she told me she’s known since November.”

The best friends have been recovering together since the surgery. This story has touched the hearts of many people including the surgeon.
