A 9-year-old boy named Journeyy Belton amazed everyone on ‘America’s Got Talent’ with his beautiful original song ‘Paradise.’
Journeyy’s ‘Paradise’ is about a dream world with purple clouds and special lullabies. The words paint a picture in your mind of a magical place. It’s pretty amazing that someone so young could write such a creative song.
When Journeyy sang, his voice was strong and full of feeling. He played the piano really well too. Everyone watching was surprised by how good he was.
The judges on the show were very impressed. Simon Cowell said, “Things are gonna happen for you. I can feel it. You are somebody who has a God-given talent. And it’s rare.”
Heidi Klum expressed, “I’m very impressed by you. Nine years old, your parents must be super proud of you. I’m proud of you. You have a beautiful voice.”
Sofia Vergara added, “We have so many cool kids this season. You’re one of them. I love your music. I love you. You’re a superstar already.”
Howie Mandel commented, “For somebody your age to be standing there so confident, you have the voice, you have the talent. You are amazing.”
The audience loved Journeyy’s performance too. They all stood up and clapped for him when he finished. The judges all said “yes” to Journeyy, which means he gets to keep performing on the show.
Journeyy doesn’t just write his own songs. He also sings other people’s songs on TikTok, a popular app for sharing videos. One song he sang was ‘Oceans’ by Hillsong United. It’s a Christian song about trusting God even when things are hard.
After the show, many people talked about Journeyy online. One person wrote, “The fact this kid put this song together at his age is wild. I don’t think people understand how hard it is to compose something like this.”
Another person expressed, “This was absolutely a golden buzzer performance.” The video of him singing on the show was watched by millions of people in just a few days.
