Jesus Destroys Our Anxiety

The Bible is full of scripture which tells us not to fear but only believe, because Jesus destroys our anxiety.

Jesus-saves-from-anxiety

Jesus’s advice to us was to fear only God when he said “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies?” is such a powerful word. Jesus assured his disciples that God remembers every sparrow individually. We are told to cast all our burdens on to God, He won’t forget us, no matter how small we are.

Jesus assures us in the Bible when He told His disciples, in Luke 12:7, “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.” That’s an assurance beyond our imagination. He made us and He knows every small detail about us. God is in control of our lives and He can be trusted completely in every situation.

Jesus commanded us not to be afraid: “Fear not,” Jesus still says to us, “you are of more value than many sparrows.” Thinking about this , gives us so much hope and courage for the future.

Jesus again touches on God’s care for our lives in the Sermon on the Mount where He said, “Look at the birds of the air,” he says; “they do not sow or reap or stow away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:26) The answer is obvious.

No Fear

Our fear isn’t from without but from within, we also know that God is able to protect us from others, but we are anxious about our lives. We think that our future may get messed up by some act of ours and that we will not be able to provide and take care of our families.

Here is another verse from the Bible that assures us that God takes away all our anxieties, Luke (12:22-31) “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.”

We become so focused on our lives, our families, our children that no matter what God’s promises are in his word, we are somehow indifferent to it and think that it is meant for other believers and that He cannot do it for us. We forget to whom we belong. God means what He says, He is not playing games, promising and not delivering. So learn to lean on Him in all things and see how Jesus destroys anxiety in your life forever.

Verse of the Day

“[God’s Final Word: His Son] In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.”

Hebrews 1:1-2
