God has declared us more than conquerors and overcomers in this life through His son Jesus Christ who gave His life for us all.
While we were yet sinners He died for us and has given us the victory to live an abundant life.
In this life we may face some problems and difficulties but we are rest assured that we will come out strong.
For it is written in Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” This means that Jesus has won the victory for us by sacrificing His life for us.
John 16:33 says “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Even though we pass through so many things, if we hold onto Him, we will not be destroyed .
Here are some of the things we need to know about becoming conquerors and overcomers as Christians:
1. Have confidence in God’s word
We should have confidence in God and His words, knowing that our God is able to fulfill what He has said about us in His word.
David believed that God will surely deliver him from the hands of Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:9 “If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us.”
He was not fighting this battle in his own strength, as he knew in his heart that God would give him the victory. We should have the same confidence in God, because Christ has won the victory for us.
As we fight the Goliaths in our lives ,we must believe that we will overcome them.
Jeremiah 1:19 says: “They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD.”
2. None of the enemy’s weapons against you will prosper
To be real overcomers we have to overcome every trick or trap of the enemy for our lives.
Luke 10:19 says: “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
The devil does not want us fighting the good fight. He does not want us overcoming and he would like nothing more than to hurt our reputation as Christians.
We must know that we are waging warfare against principalities, powers and spiritual wickedness.
But there is good news, 1 Timothy 6:12 says: “Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses.”
3. Renew your mind
Romans 12:21 says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
We can never depend on our own goodness, but rely on the Lord to lead us through life’s challenges.
There are many people who try and live for Christ, but it’s impossible on our own power. It is possible only when we let Christ live through us that we can become conquerors and overcomers.
