Jehovah Shalom Acapella, a gospel singing band from Kampala, Uganda gives a unique performance of ‘It Is Well With My Soul’, blending their voices in a perfect and soothing harmony.

The hymn ‘It Is Well With My Soul’ was written by Horatio Spafford in 1873 after a series of tragic events in his life. The death of his young son, the Great  Chicago Fire in 1871 which destroyed the properties he had invested in and the death of all of his four daughters in a sea accident. Only his wife survived.

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to know
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

It is not an easy road, the road to eternity that believers of Christ walks and trudge along. We are not promised an easy life on earth but an eternal life with God in heaven. When the pain and sorrows of life greets us, we are called to look upon Jesus and surrender it to him. The believers goal is the sky and not the grave.
