3 Reasons Why Christians Should Live In Unity With Each Other

In this era where we live, The devil seeks to bring distraction, disagreement, and arguments among God’s people. He tries to achieve this through differences among us, like our political beliefs, doctrines, and eating habits. However, the word of God warns us that these attitudes may draw us away from fulfilling the will and purpose of God for our lives.

Living in unity despite these differences is very important because we can only grow as believers when we live in harmony with our fellow believers. If you have any dispute with a child of God, you must settle your differences amicably, for God wants you to live in unity with fellow believers.

Here are some Biblical reasons why you should live in unity always:

1). Jesus Brought Us Into Unity

God’s people should understand that Jesus brought us in unity with one another through the finished works on the cross. He came to die for all of us, not for a different set of people but for everyone. When you give your life to Christ and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, you become part of the united body of Christ. This brings us into an everlasting fellowship with our living God.

Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

We should never discriminate among ourselves or look down on anyone within us. We must accept that we are one in Christ despite our social or political differences. Christ Jesus died to unite us all together as one in Him. When we comprehend this truth, we can accept one another in the name of Him, who died for us.

Psalm 133:1 “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

2). God Loves Each Of Us

The deep love of God towards us inspires us to love one another. His love for us is not sentimental or conditional.

Romans 5:8-10 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

He loved us even when we were still sinners and not when we are saints, He is the God that loves the imperfect man, so He can make them perfect through the saving grace of His Son, Jesus Christ. Let us have this same mindset and allow His spirit to help us love each other as ourselves. Helping one another in our weaknesses so His love might be seen in us.

Philippians 2:2 “Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.”

Jesus is joyful when we relate in love to one another. We complete His joy when we have that same mindset of Love toward each other. We should avoid keeping malice when we have arguments or disagreements but forgive one another in love, just as Christ has forgiven us.

Romans 14:19 “Let us make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual edification.”

3). The Devil Wants To Destroy The People Of God

Disunity is the strategy used by the devil to destroy the people of God. From the beginning, he has always wanted the downfall of God’s people. This is because it is his nature, as God wants His people to love one another. In the same way, the devil wants people to be in disunity to destroy them from fulfilling the plans of God for their lives.

John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

This verse helps us understand the purpose of the devil’s existence. He wants to steal the love, joy, peace, good health, and enteral life God has given us. There is no other way he will use to start all these except to bring disunity and disagreement between the people of God. When we give in to these things, he will fulfill his plans of killing and destroying us.

James 4:7 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Let us submit ourselves before our living God and resist every attack of the devil through arguments, hatred, and disunity among us, and the devil will flee away from us. Amen.
