The talented Redeemed Quartet performs a powerful version of ‘How Great Thou Art’ at Needle Rock, Colorado.
Old Christian hymns like ‘Amazing Grace’, ‘It Is Well With My Soul’, ‘How Great Thou Art’ and ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’ always touch our hearts. The story of ‘How Great Thou Art’ begins in Sweden. Carl Boberg wrote it as a poem in 1885 after he saw a sudden thunderstorm over Mönsterås Bay that turned into perfect calm.
This experience moved him to write about God’s majesty in nature. Stuart K. Hine, an English missionary, translated the hymn to English in 1949.
Hine added verses that tell about God’s creation and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The song helps us express our wonder at God’s work in nature and our thanks for His gift of salvation.
Redeemed Quartet is a Christian music group made up of two sets of brothers. Ben and Mark Duncan sing with Josh and Caleb Koble. As their YouTube bio says, they share a deep love for serving God through music.
