After her hope of doing missionary work was crushed, hymn author Adelaide Pollard became inspired to write a hymn about God working in her life.

She wrote ‘Have Thine Own Way, Lord’ in just one night, and it was published in multiple hymnals.

Have Thine own way, Lord,
Have Thine own way;
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mould me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, Yielded, and still.

The hymn gives full control over to God and asks Him to change our lives and work His will in everyone. It reminds people to submit to God’s will at all times and in all circumstances.

Have Thine own way, Lord,
Have Thine own way;
Search me and try me, Master, today.
Whiter than snow, Lord, Wash me just now,
As in Thy presence, Humbly I bow.

Today, as never before, we need to yield our lives and our wills to God and let Him do what He wants with us. Give your sadness and sickness to Him because He is capable of healing you and restoring you completely.

“He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”
