A heartbreaking clip by 5 On Your Side’s Jenn Sullivan when she introduced viewers to her 13-year-old Kristian grandson while carrying him down the steps of her house, has moved the hearts of thousands.
Seeing this grandmother struggle carrying her cerebral palsy grandson influenced 5 On Your Side viewers to do something about her situation.
Bill Willman said, “Right the second I saw it, and knowing the struggles they were going through to get that done, I thought ‘I don’t understand what the big deal is. we’re going to go there and talk to them and get a ramp on the back and get him, so she doesn’t have to carry him down those steps anymore.”
Help has also come from the Paric Construction company, who have started the building process. Vinita Booker said, “I’m so happy that Billy and his Crew decided to step up and do this for my baby, because we really, really need it.”
The deck and ramp will be ready in three weeks and Paric is donating everything so there is money to do other things like build a wheelchair-accessible bathtub.
