College Football Player Gifts Shoes To Homeless Man

In this world full of hurting people, a single act of kindness can make all the difference in someone’s life.

Tennessee football defensive back Garrett Johnson did exactly that when he gave two pairs of shoes to a homeless man sitting on a bench on the Strip near the University of Tennessee campus.

In a post gone viral on Twitter, he said “I walked to the strip to get food and a homeless man, Lala, couldn’t walk because his feet were hurting from the torn shoes he had one.” He further adds, “I told him I would come back and 15 minutes later I did. Don’t know these people but I do care.”

In the video, you can see Johnson walking up to the man and giving him a pair of blue New Balances. The poor man doesn’t know what to do and gingerly takes his old shoes off and puts on the new ones. Johnson then leaves another pair of shoes on the man’s bag.

“Can you wiggle your toes?” asks a woman, who claims to be Lala’s sister, off camera. “Do they feel good?”

She is thankful to Johnson, and that’s how the video ends.
