An unusual story about an elderly man in his 80’s who bought gifts for his neighbor’s 2-year-old daughter till her 16th birthday is winning the hearts of social media users.Owen Williams a dad from Wales, shared the sweet gesture done by Ken his elderly neighbor for his daughter Cadi who he had been doting on for the past two years, before he passed away.

It was a huge surprise for the Williams family, when one fine day, Ken’s daughter came over to their house with a large plastic sack left by her late father for Cadi.

Sharing his thoughts, Williams wrote, “Our elderly neighbour passed away recently. His daughter popped round a few moments ago clutching a large plastic sack,” Williams said. “In the sack were all the Christmas presents he’d bought for *our* daughter for the next thirteen years.”

He again tweeted saying that he had made a mistake in counting and it was fourteen and not thirteen gifts.

“He always told us he’d live till he was 100-years-old, so these gifts would have taken him up to our little girl’s 16th Christmas,” Williams wrote.

Williams and his wife wanted to keep the gifts packed and only give one gift to Cadi each Christmas, but they were not sure about what age each gift was meant for. The family opened a gift which was a children’s book, “Christmas Eve at the Mellops'” by Tomi Ungerer.

Ken’s Christmas gifts story has gone viral and Williams decided to share more about him, “Ken was a former salvage diver, seaman, carpenter, baker,” Williams wrote. “The first time I met him, he was bouncing a 20ft ladder across the face of his house. He was on top. He was 83 at the time.”

Cadi may be too young to comprehend what Ken has done for her, but she will always remember Ken’s generosity and love for her.

Verse of the Day

“While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.”
