Ed Sheeran, the famous singer-songwriter, made a runner’s day in London by singing her a love song while filming a music video on a canal boat.
On September 17, Ed Sheeran was filming a video on a London canal when he spotted a woman running nearby. He called out, “Hi! Any requests?” The runner, Nikki Atkins, asked for ‘Tenerife Sea’, a romantic song from Sheeran’s 2014 album ‘x’. Sheeran immediately started playing and singing:
You look so wonderful in your dress
I love your hair like that
The way it falls on the side of your neck
Down your shoulders and back
Atkins quickly grabbed her phone to record this special moment. It was like a scene from a movie – a world-famous musician floating by, serenading a lone jogger with one of his most romantic songs.
After finishing, Sheeran gave a thumbs-up and said, “Have a good rest of your run.” Atkins waved back before continuing her jog.
Sheeran later shared a video of this interaction on Instagram and TikTok. He wrote, “Was filming a video on the canal today, played a request. If anyone knows the runner lemme know so we can have their POV video for the lols.”
The video went viral quickly, getting over 300,000 views and hundreds of comments. Fans were touched by Sheeran’s kindness. One person wrote, “She will remember this every time she runs this route. I love Ed for the actions – and he obviously does too!❤” Another said, “What a dude! Such a down to earth guy.”
