Dying Father And Bride-to-Be Shares Emotional Dance

Becky Carey always wanted the traditional father-daughter dance at her wedding reception, but after her dad Tim Carey, was diagnosed with prostrate and pancreatic cancer in 2014, she was praying an hoping that he would be there on her wedding day.

As Tim’s health began to drastically decline, Becky decided to turn her engagement photo session into a photo shoot with her dad. She put on her wedding dress and he wore his Air Force uniform to shoot some memorable pictures.

They did have their father-daughter dance and swayed to Tim’s favorite song, ‘Unchained Melody’ as tears streamed down both of their faces.

“About halfway through the song, he started crying, so then, of course I started crying. I don’t know if he knew he wasn’t going to make it to the wedding day,” Becky said. Videos and photographs of the moment shows them dancing, laughing and whispering to one another.

Sadly, Tim passed away in his sleep before Becky’s wedding, and even though he would not be there in person at the ceremony, his memories would be there for sure.

Becky will be playing the video of their special dance during the reception and plans to keep the tears at bay.

Verse of the Day

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
