Dolly Parton made a significant impact on a terminally ill man’s life this Christmas.
LeGrand Gold, battling cancer for two years, had a special wish: to meet Dolly Parton. This wish seemed out of reach, but it became a reality just days before Christmas.
Gold, from Orem, Utah, faced a difficult period when he learned his cancer was spreading. He was encouraged to spend his last holiday season with his family. Among his wishes was to meet Dolly Parton, whose music had been a source of strength during his illness. Surprisingly, Parton herself called Gold, fulfilling this wish.
Their conversation was meaningful and uplifting. Parton expressed gratitude to Gold for being a long-time fan and shared her happiness for positively impacting his life. She sang “I Will Always Love You,” bringing comfort and joy to Gold and his wife, Alice.
This interaction was a significant moment for Gold. He was amazed and delighted that his unlikely Christmas wish came true, saying it made him feel “immortal.” Gold also expressed his hope to accomplish more from his bucket list, including traveling with his family.
