Johnny Mathis helped save his neighbor’s Pomeranian as shown in the security footage from his apartment complex in Houston, Texas.

The footage shows his neighbor walking into the elevator as he is walking out of it.

An alert Mathis turns to see that even before the dog could enter the elevator, the doors close, but thankfully Mathis quickly removes the leash off the dog and saves its life.

Due to the dog’s fur, it was difficult to remove the lease, but in the end he takes it off and saves the day.

The dog’s owner was scared of what would have happened if Mathis wasn’t there to remove the leash but was relieved on finding out that it was alright.

“I think she just said ‘thank you’ and we hugged but she was just so overcome with emotion,” shared Mathis.

God placed Mathis at the right place, at the right time to help his neighbor and the dog out. We must always be alert and helpful to the people around us in our neighborhood and community.

Verse of the Day

“Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.””

Luke 2:28-32
