Church service got a makeover when a furry friend joined the priest on stage. Dogs are a man’s best friend, they give us love unconditionally in all circumstances, even when we don’t love ourselves, they choose to love us.
Father José Geraldo Sobreira was leading mass at the Nossa Senhora das Dores parish in Brazil when a furry friend visited his church. The dog known as ‘Herman’ from the neighborhood, walked right into the sanctuary and then went all the way to the front of the church to Father Jose.
Nobody seemed to mind, as the dog was walking right through the church, knocking down flower arrangements in the process and also got a few belly rubs from Father Jose, who wasn’t upset by the animal.
The church later got to know that Herman belonged to a neighbor who had Alzheimer’s, who was very relieved to have her pet dog back home after his adventure. Many were amazed by Herman’s first church service and the video of it has already gone viral on social media, with more than 7 million views.
This cute story about Herman and his church service, reminds us that we can enter into the presence of God just as we are, without any pretense.
