Our God is a miracle worker, the same yesterday, today, and forever. When we find ourselves in seemingly hopeless situations, we must remember that God’s power can shine through in the most dire circumstances.

The story of this family reminds us of the profound truth that God is always present and capable of performing miracles.

The McKnight family, visiting from Kansas City, was enjoying a day with relatives when the incident occurred.

Jacob and Caitlin McKnight, along with their daughters Callie (4), Zoey (6), and Eleanor (1), were at Jacob’s sister’s house when the terrifying event unfolded.

Caitlin recalled, “From 2:00 to 5:00, we were all out there together — me and all of the girls.” At one point, Eleanor came inside to say hello to her father. Caitlin followed her in but soon realized she couldn’t see Callie and Zoey.

Panic set in as Jacob and Caitlin frantically searched the property.

Jacob said, “I’m starting to get pretty panicked at this point. I assumed the worst, so I ran over to the pool, and I could see — crystal clear — I saw them at the bottom of the pool.”

The girls were in the deepest part of the pool, 10 feet underwater.

Jacob dove into the pool to rescue his daughters, pulling them from the murky depths.

“It’s the most horrific thing I hope no one ever has to deal with, to see something like that,” he recounted. Once out of the water, Jacob and Caitlin began CPR. “They were dead,” Jacob said.

“But our medical team, with their knowledge, wisdom, and equipment, were able to bring them back. We feel so blessed to be at this hospital.”

The girls, despite suffering from severe lung inflammation, began to show signs of recovery.

Caitlin shared, “Both of them are awake and obviously they still can’t talk because they’ve got the ventilator, but they’ve both opened their eyes, they’ve both responded to questions yes, no, both have smiled. It’s just really encouraging to see my girls are in there and they’re fighting.”

The McKnights emphasized the importance of CPR training for parents. Jacob stated, “You need CPR training if you have kids because you never know when literally it’s between life and death.”

This life-saving knowledge was crucial in the moments following the girls’ rescue.

The McKnights credit their daughters’ survival to divine intervention.

“We do believe God was there,” Jacob said. “We believe that there’s a miracle at play.” This family witnessed God’s intervention as they were able to find their daughters and pull them out in time. If they hadn’t, the outcome would have been fatal.

Just as the McKnights held onto their belief in God’s intervention, we too must cling to our faith.

The same God who saved those young girls is with us in our struggles, ready to provide hope and deliverance.

Let this story strengthen our trust in God’s unfailing power and remind us to always turn to Him in times of need.
